    • Reached new heights in 1999
      • Received QS-9000 and ISO-9002 Certification in April, 1999. The team that earned the certification is looking beyond 2000 to provide zero ppm to the customer by employing a continuous improvement and mistake proofing philosophy.
      • Delphi Automotive System/Saginaw Steering Systems Awarded Self-Certified Supplier status to HMM for various components.
      • JCI Automotive Systems Group Awarded HMM "Most Improved Supplier, 1999"

    • Set New Sales & Profit Records
      • HMM received a $750,000 grant from the DOE/SBIR to further develop SSM Alloys and improve productivity in the forming operation. Northwest Aluminum Technology is executing the development of low temperature inert anode reduction under a $2.5 Million grant from the DOE. Northwest Aluminum is successfully developing NEW alloys for SSM.

    • HMM featured in Die Casting Engineer Volume 43, Number 6 November/December 1999 issue. New Players, New Technologies Broaden Scope of Activity for Squeeze Casting, SSM Advances. "Hot Metal Molding Strives to Enhance Material Usage".

    • Jack M. Dibee appointed Executive Vice President of Business Development.  Jack joined V.A.W. of America in 1992 as VP of Sales and Marketing and was appointed to VP of Automotive Products in Jan. 1998. Prior to joining V.A.W. of America Jack was VP of Sales and Marketing at Penn Aluminum International and held Product Development Manager, Plant Metallurgist, and R& D Scientist positions in the copper industry. Jack has various Technical Publications and is a founding member and post chairman for the International Metallographical Society. A member of American Society of Metal, Society of Manufacturing Engineers and active member of The Automotive Market Research Council and a formal member of the Executive Committee of The Automotive and Light Truck Committee of the Aluminum Association and active in the PNGV Group. Jack's challenge is to expand the role of SSM Technology in general and leverage HMM competencies to expand its market segments and market share to automotive and nonautomotive customers.
